SMS TRAVEL – Terms & Conditions:

These Terms & Conditions (“T&C’s”) apply to all bookings made with SMS TRAVEL. By confirming a booking with us, you agree that you have read, understood, and accepted the following terms, which outline the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of both the traveler (“you”) and SMS TRAVEL (“we” or “us”).

01. Our Role & Services:

  • SMS TRAVEL acts as an intermediary between travelers and third-party service providers (airlines, hotels, transport companies, tour operators, insurance providers, etc.).

  • We assist with travel planning, booking, issuing documents, and providing general advice.

  • We do not own, operate, or control the services of third-party providers, and therefore cannot be held responsible for their performance, delays, cancellations, or errors.

02. Booking Process & Confirmation:

  • Bookings are only confirmed once full payment or the required deposit is received by the deadline given.

  • Quotations are subject to availability and may change without prior notice. Prices can be affected by factors such as exchange rates, taxes, airline surcharges, and adjustments from the travel partners or third-party.

  • If payment is not received on time, your booking may be cancelled, and cancellation charges may apply.

  • A booking reference number or confirmation voucher will be issued to you as proof of your confirmed booking once full payment is received by the deadline given.

Note: To avoid disappointment, we recommend making payments promptly after receiving your quotation. This ensures your travel plans are locked in at the quoted rate and availability.

03. Cancellations, Amendments & Refunds:

  • All cancellations and amendments are subject to the terms of the third-party supplier.

  • Cancellation fees, change penalties, and non-refundable charges may apply.

  • Refunds, if applicable, will only be processed once received from the third-party supplier.

  • SMS TRAVEL charges an administration fee for processing cancellations, refunds, or any changes.

  • Refund timelines vary depending on the supplier and can take up to 08 weeks or longer and subject to the terms of the third-party supplier.

  • Third-party supplier may deduct additional amount from your Refund (subject to the terms of the third-party supplier.) excluding SMS Travel administration fee.

Note: All cancellations, changes, and refunds are subject to third-party supplier terms. Fees, penalties, and non-refundable charges may apply. Refunds (less supplier deductions and SMS TRAVEL admin fee) are processed only once received from the supplier and may take up to 08+ weeks.

04. Schedule Changes & Service Disruptions:

  • Airlines and other service providers may reschedule, cancel, or make changes to your confirmed booking.

  • It is your responsibility to contact SMS TRAVEL at least 24 hours before the travel date to check for any updates or changes to your booking.

  • Acceptance of schedule changes is often at no cost, but in some cases, additional charges may apply. (subject to the terms of the third-party supplier)

  • SMS TRAVEL is not liable for costs arising from strikes, weather conditions, natural disasters, political events, or unforeseen circumstances.

Note: We strongly recommend contacting SMS TRAVEL at least 24 hours before your travel date to reconfirm your booking and check for any changes. If you fail to do so, you accept full responsibility for any inconvenience, missed services, or extra costs. SMS TRAVEL will not be liable for disruptions caused by failure to reconfirm. By proceeding with your booking, you agree to this responsibility.

05. Travel Documentation & Visa Requirements:

  • Travelers are responsible for ensuring they have valid passports (minimum 6 months validity), visas, permits, health certificates, and other entry requirements.

  • SMS TRAVEL provides guidance but is not responsible for denied boarding, refusal of entry, or deportation due to incomplete or invalid documentation.

  • Any fines, penalties, or additional costs due to documentation issues are the traveler’s responsibility.

Note: Travelers must hold valid passports (6+ months), visas, permits, and required documents. SMS TRAVEL is not liable for denied entry or costs due to invalid/incomplete documentation. All related fines and expenses are the traveler’s responsibility.

06. Travel Insurance:

  • We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies, lost baggage, delays, accidents, and other unforeseen circumstances.

  • SMS TRAVEL is not liable for expenses that could have been covered by adequate travel insurance.

Note: Travelers are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance. SMS TRAVEL is not liable for costs that proper insurance would cover.

07. Health, Safety & Special Requests:

  • It is your responsibility to ensure you are medically fit for travel. Some destinations may require vaccinations or health clearances.

  • Any dietary needs, mobility assistance, or special requests must be communicated in advance. These are not guaranteed but will be requested from suppliers.

08. Liability & Responsibility:

  • SMS TRAVEL takes reasonable care in selecting suppliers and ensuring information accuracy.

  • We are not liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, delay, inconvenience, or additional expense caused by third parties, force majeure, or circumstances beyond our control.

09. Traveler Responsibilities:

By booking with SMS TRAVEL, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate personal details for bookings and travel documents.

  • Comply with all airline, hotel, and supplier rules, as well as immigration and customs regulations.

  • Arrive at airports, hotels, tours, or meeting points on time.

  • Behave respectfully toward fellow travelers, staff, and service providers.

  • Check booking details, tickets, and travel documents for accuracy.

  • Reconfirm flights or services with SMS TRAVEL at least 24 hours before departure.

  • Obtain and carry valid passports, visas, permits, health/vaccination certificates, and insurance.

  • Settle any additional charges (e.g., excess baggage, hotel incidentals, local taxes) directly with suppliers.

  • Safeguard your belongings; SMS TRAVEL is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

  • Acknowledge that schedule changes, delays, or cancellations by third parties are beyond SMS TRAVEL’s control.

  • Accept any fees, penalties, or costs arising from changes, cancellations, or missed services.

  • Maintain adequate travel insurance to cover medical, cancellation, or unforeseen circumstances.

Note: By booking with SMS TRAVEL, you agree to provide accurate information, comply with supplier and legal rules, arrive on time, behave respectfully, reconfirm bookings, carry valid documents and insurance, settle additional charges, safeguard your belongings, and accept that SMS TRAVEL is not liable for third-party changes, delays, or losses.

10. Privacy & Data Protection:

  • SMS TRAVEL values your privacy. Personal information is collected only for booking purposes and shared with relevant suppliers.

  • We do not sell or misuse your personal data.

11. Force Majeure:

SMS TRAVEL shall not be held liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, strikes, or civil unrest.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction:

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of [insert country, e.g., South Africa].

  • Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in [insert city/country].

13. Acceptance of Terms:

By confirming a booking with SMS TRAVEL, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these Terms & Conditions, as well as those of the third-party service providers involved in your travel arrangements.
